Assessment Week

Institutional Effectiveness/Academic Assessment

The college has established the fifth week of the fall and spring semesters as "Academic assessment Week".  During this week, instructors administer the critical thinking assessment, scientific inquiry/numeracy test and humanities survey. In addition, student focus sessions are conducted and video taped and all faculty conduct a formative evaluation in each class section. They are given two weeks to report the findings to the IE/AA Committee. Faculty also conduct classroom assessment strategies at the start of the semester, for example, collecting writing samples or administering pre-tests. After post-test are completed at the end of the semester, they report finding to the IE/AA committee.
