The Office of Research Planning and Development provides planning and research assistance for all South Mountain Community College departments/divisions.
The Office is responsible for the following:
- Surveys:
- Support the design and administration of surveys to customers, potential customers and staff.
- The Information Needs of Internal Clients:
- Provide data on retention, graduation, student and community demographics, etc. to SMCC administrators, committees, faculty and students
- Provide data for the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) process.
- Provide information on the college and its students to accrediting bodies, external organizations, the Maricopa Governing Board and the community at large.
- Grants:
- Identify sources for internal and external funding. Assist with funding application processes.
The mission of the Research, Planning & Development Office at SMCC is to provide relevant, timely and accurate data about our service area, community, students and staff, curricula, programs, instruction, teaching and learning to our internal and external constituents for the purposes of planning, decision making and evaluation.
