Mission Statement
The mission of the Strategic Enrollment Management Advisory Committee (SEMAC) is to implement, document, monitor and periodically revise the process of student enrollment and retention, using approaches that are flexible, educationally sound, evidence based and support a collaborative approach to establishing priorities and determining strategies.
Description
Enrollment management at SMCC is a college wide responsibility led and documented by the college’s Strategic Enrollment Management Advisory Committee (SEMAC).
This advisory group, consisting of college directors, chairs, faculty members, and other staff, develops strategies and ideas in the area of enrollment management, and makes recommendations to the college accordingly.
This college-wide effort focuses on recruitment, persistence, student success and community relationship building. Areas of focus include:
- data analysis
- curriculum, instruction and program mix
- retention and persistence
- advising and recruitment
- marketing and promotion
- technology
- facilities management
- annual enrollment management plan
- evaluation and revision
