The South Mountain Community College Guadalupe Center is now a fresh, new campus – and it’s time to celebrate!
A fun-filled grand opening is set for May 31 (Saturday) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the center, 9233 S. Avenida del Yaqui (Priest Drive), just south of Guadalupe Road.
The center has doubled in size to 10,000 square feet and includes new classrooms and labs, a large community room, comprehensive enrollment area, security office, and more. Enrollment is underway for summer classes at the center.
Included in the celebration will be mariachi performances; a blessing of the grounds by The Rev. David Myers; welcomes from current and former students; remarks by Guadalupe Mayor Rebecca Jimenez; SMCC President Ken Atwater; Maricopa Community College District Chancellor Rufus Glasper and Governing Board Members, and more. Refreshments will be served. Also, guests may tour the center, learn more about expanded educational offerings, and enroll for classes.
