South Mountain Community College has expanded its Information Technology course offerings for the Spring 2008 semester, and will now offer eight industry certifications in addition to many other classes and degree programs.

SMCC is an official Cisco Networking Academy, and now offers four Cisco certifications: Cisco Certified Networking Associate; Cisco Certified Networking Professional; Cisco Certified Voice Professional; and Cisco Certified Security Professional.

In addition, SMCC will also offer Miscrosoft MPC and MCSA certification, as well as certificates in CompTIA A+ and Net+ for entry-level computer technicians. Tuition is only $65 per credit hour for Maricopa County residents.

The college is responding to national employment trends, which show that the hottest job market in the country remains in high-tech industries.
In addition to the certification training listed above, SMCC is also offering a wide variety of Information Technology classes for beginning level students to those more advanced.

Course offerings include Internet & web development, eCommerce, graphic design, and a wide range of business applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite.

Spring courses begin in mid-January and continue throughout the spring. To enroll, simply visit the college website at www.southmountaincc.edu, or stop by any South Mountain Community College enrollment office: the SMCC Main Campus at 7050 S. 24th Street; the SMCC Ahwatukee Foothills Center at 16233 S. 48th Street in Phoenix; or the SMCC Guadalupe Center at 9233 S.
