South Mountain Community College Community  Education
Classes Help Thousands Achieve Their Personal Best

Just imagine:  You can get  healthy with classes in yoga, Tai Chi or ballroom dancing — and with your  new, extra energy take classes in Speedy French or Speedy Japanese.   At the same time, why not enroll in a photography class — then, of  course, hop on a plane to take photos of the Eiffel Tower or Downtown  Tokyo?

Sound like fun? South Mountain Community College’s  Community Education classes can make it a reality.

Beginning in January 2008, the college will offer more than  150 fun and interesting non-credit and one-credit courses for lifelong  learners of all ages --  at 18 locations throughout the South Mountain Village area, including Ahwatukee and Laveen. Classes start on various dates.

Exercise and fitness classes such as Pilates, yoga, Tai Chi or golf will give you the stamina you need to travel, hike, and  more; photography classes will teach you how to compose that perfect  picture;  computer classes will help you save and share the result;  and speedy foreign language classes will teach you how to discuss it all in French, German, Italian, Spanish or  Japanese!

Other classes include interior design, a home-loan  financing seminar, GED study preparation program, jazz ensemble, community  band, women’s personal defense, and personal finance.

These  classes and many more are available at fees ranging from $32.50  to  $65, ranging in duration from three to 16 weeks. There is a one-time  registration fee of $15 for credit classes.  Classes begin in January, and continue  throughout the spring.

For a complete class schedule, visit  http://community.southmountaincc.edu,  or visit the SMCC Main Campus (7050 S. 24th Street), Ahwatukee Foothills  Center (16233 S. 48th St.) or Guadalupe Center (9233 S. Avenida del  Yaqui.)
