Comedy Satirizing Parenthood – to be Performed Jan. 18-20 at South Mountain Community College

“Baby With the Bathwater,” an over-the-top comedy satirizing parenthood, will be performed at South Mountain Community College, Jan. 18-20.

The full-length comedy is by one of American theatre’s most beloved and provocative writers, Christopher Durang.  The original production enjoyed widespread critical and popular acceptance in its long run at Off-Broadway's Playwrights Horizons.
 
Ricky Araiza, a full-time actor and teaching artist from Tempe’s nationally known Childsplay, will direct the comedy.  The cast includes SMCC alumnus Bernie Garcia in the title role, along with SMCC students Michelle Luz and Justin Valdez (recently nominated to the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for their work on other SMCC productions.)  Completing the cast are guest artists Jenn Rooks and Jessica Egen.

Performances are Jan. 18, 19, 20, 2007 at 7:30 pm in the Studio Theatre of the college (PAC 725), 7050 S. 24th Street (just north of Baseline Road.)

Tickets range from $5 to $8 and will only be available at the door.
