Back by “poplar” demand are classes that will teach you to craft your own cabinets, furniture and more!
These well-liked woodworking classes — offered by South Mountain Community College at McClintock High -- will return in August. They had been offered several years ago at this high school in Tempe.
Once again, you can carve out your creative side with Beginning or Intermediate Woodworking, Furniture Construction, Introduction to Cabinetmaking or Advanced Cabinetmaking.
Tuesday classes will be taught by John Hankinson and will run Aug. 26 to Dec. 9. Steve Baily will teach the Wednesday classes from Aug. 27 to Dec. 10. The three-credit classes will run from 5 to 10 p.m. McClintock High is at 1830 E. Del Rio, in Tempe (on McClintock Drive between Broadway and Southern).
Cost for Maricopa County residents is $213 for each class, plus a $40 supply fee for each class. In addition, there is a one-time-per-semester registration fee of $15.
