Interested in becoming a teacher?  Explore the opportunities during Teacher Education Day at South Mountain Community College on Saturday, April 5.

The award-winning teacher education program of SMCC will host the event from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the college, 7050 S. 24th St. (just north of Baseline Rd).

Guests can learn about the outstanding Dynamic Learning Teacher Education Program of SMCC, how credits from the two-year SMCC transfer to Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University,  about teaching opportunities throughout the Valley, and more.  In addition, visitors can meet with SMCC academic advisers, select classes for summer and fall, and also enroll.  A scholarship for tuition at SMCC will be given away to a lucky guest.

“This is a great time to become a teacher,” according to Jackie Jaap, SMCC teacher-education faculty.  “There is a need for teachers throughout the state. Teaching is a very satisfying career, offering an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others and to impact the futures of individuals and communities.”
