This summer, learn about futures contracts and options -- including trading methods and strategies — in the class, “Basics of Futures and Options for Investing,” at South Mountain Community College,
Bruce McHenry, SMCC business faculty, will teach the class on Tuesdays, June 10 to July 29. Classes will run 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the college, 7050 S. 24th St. (just north of Baseline Rd.)
In this class (FIN 285), McHenry will explain and discuss the history of futures contracts; outline market participants, specifications and pricing of futures; and will describe how cash and futures markets interact.
In addition, he will explain options; including properties, pricing and valuation of options; explain the various methods of trading options; and outline basic trading strategies for futures and options.
The class is 3 credits, and cost is $210, plus the textbook.
